What happens at the initial 15 minute free consultation?

Your 15 minute free consultation is a brief telephone chat to give you the chance to tell me a bit about the problems you are facing and to see whether CBT would be an appropriate treatment for you, or whether I could be the right life coach for you depending on whether you would like therapy or life coaching. There is no obligation to work with me after your consultation.

How long are the therapy sessions?

Therapy sessions last up to one hour.

How many therapy sessions will I need?

This is different for everyone, the average range is from 6 to 20 sessions lasting from a few weeks up to six months, however some people will need slightly less and some slightly more. Every individual’s circumstances are different.

What qualifications do you have?

I hold the following professional qualifications and am fully accredited with the BABCP, meaning that I have completed extensive training to the required standards. I uphold my accreditation by undertaking regular CPD (Continued Professional Development).

Where are the sessions held?

Both therapy and life coaching sessions are held at my office in Sittingbourne, Kent, or remotely via Zoom.

Are therapy and life coaching sessions confidential?

Yes, everything we talk about is confidential, unless there is a risk to you or someone around you then I may have to disclose information to your GP and any other relevant services. I will always discuss this with you in the session.

What happens if I need to cancel a session?

If you need to cancel an appointment I will require 24 hours notice and I will be able to reschedule your session free of charge. If under 24 hours notice is given, half the session fee will be charged.

What is the difference between therapy and life coaching?

Therapy is for people who are experiencing emotional distress or have a particular mental health disorder, for example anxiety, and need some support in helping to bring them up to baseline levels so they are able to be more functional and manage their emotions more efficiently. Life coaching is more suitable for people who aren’t experiencing emotional distress, but are feeling stuck in either their personal lives or their professional lives and have particular goals they want to achieve.

Can I come back for more life coaching sessions after completing my package?

Yes, of course! I provide top up sessions at a reduced rate, we will discuss this once you have completed your package.
